  • Myst Online dies again. 7 more lives to go.

POSTED BY NEMO, FEBRUARY 05 2008 11:44 PM | PERMALINK

Announced yesterday by the VP of Content and Creative Director for GameTap, Rrrrrricardo Sanchezzzzz, Myst/Uru Online will discontinue it’s service on Gametap. This marks the second time that an online version of Myst has come to an untimely end. The first attempt ended while still in open beta in 2004 and now this one ended just a little over a year after the game was declared live.

The biggest source of anger from the players when news is heard of an MMO cancellation comes from the guys that just...

  • Warhammer Online Special Edition Details

POSTED BY NEMO, JANUARY 31 2008 03:12 PM | PERMALINK

A Swedish video game website just added an entry for the special edition of Warhammer Online giving us all the little details for which some of you folks will pay an exorbitant amount for this game. So far this is the only place this information can be found so its validity is in question. If it’s fake, too bad, but if it’s real, I don’t really see a problem with what we are shown. The bonus items look pretty cool for that extra cash you are going to pay. Getting past the usual soundtrack, art book,...

  • Former Trek Online designers says STO is nigh impossible to make

POSTED BY NEMO, DECEMBER 13 2007 06:29 PM | PERMALINK

Former senior system designer Eric Heimburg made a post in www.eldergame.com stating the many difficulties there are in making an MMO based on the Star Trek universe. Let me first stated that, yes I am not a video game designer or anything that comes close to that, but this post read with defeatist attitude written all over it.

He first complains that they need to make two games, a space ship one and a ground one. I don’t really know why there is a need when there have been a whole bunch of Trek...

  • Perpetual Entertainment’s MMO development is going from bad to worse

POSTED BY NEMO, NOVEMBER 27 2007 11:44 PM | PERMALINK

At the beginning of October, Perpetual put its Roman-themed MMO, Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising, on “indefinite hold” as the company was shifting its focus on platform games and concentrating on making Star Trek Online "...lives up to the high level of expectation set by the dedicated Star Trek fan base.” A month passes by and some business stuff happens and now Perpetual is under new management and new bosses. And it seems like the new bosses aren’t heading in the same direction as what the press release...

  • Book 11: LoL LoTRO Lore is coming soon.

POSTED BY NEMO, OCTOBER 17 2007 05:49 PM | PERMALINK

Turbine has just officially announced that the next content update for Lord of the Rings Online will be coming in October! Hopefully they are talking about this October which ends in about two weeks so... i guess this is coming out real soon right?

    Some of the new content that Book 11: Defenders of Eriador will introduce is;

    - Player housing!
I have never really cared for this but for some reason MMO players like to have it. I mean i also do stupid things like collecting pets and stuff but...

  • The greatest MMO to be already took down it's first victim.

POSTED BY NEMO, OCTOBER 10 2007 03:39 PM | PERMALINK

Perpetual Entertainment just announced that one of their MMOs currently in production has been put "on indefinite hold." God & Heroes: Rome Rising has officially become vaporware. And what was one of the reasons given for such a change? Star Trek Online. That's right! The MMO that will become a global sensation just destroyed the first roadblock in its climb to the top of the MMO mountain to become The MMO Titan! Perpetual is shifting its focus to Stark Trek Online because the game demmands that...
