Free to play Fury becomes free to play

POSTED BY Nemo, 11 December 2007

Ok, this is sort of a weird news article because I can’t find anything on it past the post from Kotaku. I didn’t see any info in the Fury website, the developer’s, or the publisher’s. Maybe I didn’t look deep enough but since this is sort of a big change to the game I thought that it would be featured somewhere it would be easy to find.

The big news is that Fury, a free to play game, is now free to play. How can a free to play game become even more free to play? The first thing you need to know is that this is all marketing BS to get you people to play, and now that you know this we can get on to the real answer. When Fury was released the game was said to be free to play but you needed to actually purchase a game box to get to play it and if you paid 10 bucks a month you got a few extra bonuses to your gameplay. Now you don’t have to buy the game to play it you just download the installer and you are done, but there is still the option to still pay a subscription to get some extra stuff that you normally wouldn’t get. Ergo, it was free to play and now it becomes… free to play… FOR REAL!

Maybe the reason the press release of the new free to play model isn’t to be found anywhere in their sites is because they want to squeeze a few more dollars in this last couple of days before is implemented?

Kotaku press release.
