Perpetual Entertainment’s MMO development is going from bad to worse

At the beginning of October, Perpetual put its Roman-themed MMO, Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising, on “indefinite hold” as the company was shifting its focus on platform games and concentrating on making Star Trek Online "...lives up to the high level of expectation set by the dedicated Star Trek fan base.” A month passes by and some business stuff happens and now Perpetual is under new management and new bosses. And it seems like the new bosses aren’t heading in the same direction as what the press release for Gods & Heroes said and Trek Online is going to take the path of the “Korean MMO.” It's going to be more “casual friendly” and it's going to have micro payments to get the good stuff.
I don’t know what’s happening with this third generation of MMOs but they are all heading downhill. The Marvel MMO apparently is heading for the chair and now this; all the small studios are being tossed around and this creates a mess with the current projects they are working on. The MMO industry seems to be taking the same steps as the Video Game industry back during its development. We are now in the stage where only the big boys are surviving and the rest are trying to make due by putting out anything.
