NC Soft Comes out on top from the Marvel suit?
Earlier this week Cryptic Studios announced that they we selling EVERYTHING about City of Heroes/Villians to NC Soft, the intellectual and proprietary of both of those games are now in the hands of NC Soft. They have 100% control over what happens in all aspects of either game.

To me this all looks like another evil master plan by Marvel. They sued NC Soft because they apparently they were profiting from their property because people created character based on Marvel characters. Apparently no one involved in all this mess ever played any other MMO and saw the thousands of Drizzt copies all over the place. Marvel's actual plan was to cheaply acquire a game developing company for a MMO project they decided to start. Everyone is making MMOs these days (Halo? Animal Crossing, KOTOR?)so why shouldn't Marvel, right?
NC Soft decided to give up because Marvel could've kept this thing going on for a long time, so they agreed to a settlement that has Cryptic developing the Marvel MMO based on their universe. Since Cryptic now has to spend all of their resources in creating this Marvel MMO they decided to be the good guys in all of this and sold their property so both COH and COV can continue on for the fans.
NC soft has to rebuild a team to keep the games going but they now completely own everything that has to do with them. So they kind of didn't end up taking a really big hit from all of this.

So now we have NCSoft completely in charge while, "Cryptic will work closely with the team at NCsoft to create a smooth transition and gameplay will not be affected."
Hopefully the NCSoft will keep the same level of work and does completely change the way the games are built to bring in more fans or something other crazy idea.
