Square Enix bans around 8,000 more accounts.

POSTED BY Nemo, 25 October 2007

Square Enix has definitely put their foot down on illegal actions in their MMO, for the second month in a row they have banned around 8,000 accounts related to RMT (Real Money Trading). They have even set up a special task force to deal specifically with all of these types of illegal acts. The hammer has been brought down son! These are the types of measures all MMOs should take to stop the plight of the gold farmer/sellers. Implementing small delays to the process of farming and selling is in reality affecting the players more than the farmers *COUGHWOWCOUGH!* and it isn't really the answer. Then again it's easier for FFXI because they don't allow anything to be added to their games, you have the play the game how they have given it to you.

I wouldn't say better late than never for FFXI but I would say that this should be an example for all other MMOs out there.

Special Task Force.
